My name is Glenda and if you’re like me, you dream of creating a home that is a haven untouched by the outside world and all it’s stresses and demands. A home where loved ones come away and are uplifted, rested, and restored. A happy place of fellowship and enjoying the company of one another.
My vision is that this blog would serve as a means of encouragement and mentoring from me, an older woman who knows some things (and is still learning a lot) to the younger (and young at heart) women according to God’s Word. It isn’t about where you live, your financial situation or what you’ve believed about yourself all your life, it starts with God’s gift of salvation in Christ and His gift of a new heart within His temple (you) and flows out from there according to the gifts God has placed within you. The gifts just need to be stirred up! As you step out in faith, the results will reveal His abounding grace toward you! You will truly be blessed as you learn to be a servant and pour yourself out for His glory! As you shine for Him, His light will break forth throughout your home.
The Christian homemaker is a blessed woman as she does not work alone. As stewards of the gift of our homes, we are happy to have the help of Father God, Jesus the Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God as our guide and the Sisterhood of Believers, those Sisters who have gone before and those who walk with us now. We need each other and encouragement from one another…and much more as we see the Day approaching! Amen!!!
Here we will discuss homemaking, recipes, diy crafts, decor, finances, child training, mothering, sistering, gardening and lots of homesteading…so many life lessons to help us grow in Christ and bless our families! Learning together, we can accomplish much! It is all and always to glorify our Savior, who is our Solid Foundation.
Home-Sweet Things has changed here and there over the years as the Lord has led me through seasons and taught me many things. At times, the blog was quiet, at times I shared what I felt led to share. My heart has always been to encourage my Sisters and so it seems that I have reached a place where this is possible on a more frequent basis. Many are far ahead of me on their own Home-Sweet Journey and others are just stepping out, we can all learn from one another and glean the riches of Christ together as we are all on the same Path, for a time working it out here and leading to our home eternal.
